ILLEGAL TRAFFIC OF FAUNA AND FLORA

Flora and fauna trafficking is a crime. The Colombian Penal Code establishes penalties of up to 90 months in prison and fines of up to 15,000 minimum wages for those who commit this crime.

If you meet people who sell protected flora and fauna you must report to the National Police.

 

DO NOT consume eggs or meat of wild origin.

 

DO NOT fish for protected or closed species.

 

The Colombian Criminal Code determines as an offense the illicit exploitation of renewable natural resources, understood as the appropriation, introduction, exploitation, transportation, possession, trafficking, trade, exploration, exploitation or the benefit of the specimens, products or parts of the faunal, forestry, floristic, hydro-biological, biological or genetic resources of Colombian biodiversity.
